The Role
As a Solution Automation Engineer you will be responsible to create, maintain and document automation frameworks for the deployment of complex redundant LTE, 5G and IMS Core Networks, on scenarios spanning from fully virtualized on premise solutions to Hybrid or Fully on Cloud systems. The Solution Automation Engineer will be part of Services Department and will report to the Director of Services. She/he will be assisted and trained through an Onboarding Training Path covering 3GPP fundamentals, IP and networking, virtualization and cloud environments, as well as the company Products and Solutions. She/he will work closely with a skillful team of experts in mobile network deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain and test tools for automated generation of Low Level Design and IP plans starting for Private Mobile Network Solutions, based on Customer’s input.
- Create, maintain and improve automation frameworks for autoconfiguration of Network Devices and Network Functions, using automation suites (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, …) and REST APIs.
- Contribute to the design of the Private Network Solutions to be deployed leveraging automation.
- Prepare documentation on tools and frameworks, for both internal use and for Customer use. Required skills and experience:
- Python and its packaging methodologies (pip)
- Docker or other container technology
- Git and its principal workflows (feature branches, rebase, tags)
- Gitlab CI
- HTTP/REST APIs
- Basic knowledge of networking (static and dynamic routing, VLAN, VRRP)
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Nice to have skills:
- Automation with Ansible
- Virtualization with VMware (ESXi/vCenter) and/or KVM
- Deep knowledge of Linux and its networking stack
- 4G / 5G and VoLTE/VoNR technologies and protocol stack
- DELL networking devices and DELL OS10
- Automation with Terraform
- Knowledge of one of principal Cloud players (AWS, GCP)
- Jira and Confluence for documentation / testing report and work plan
